This very well established taxi and private hire business was established by two long time friends in 1986 as a way of “keeping busy” and quickly became a significant business in an area where private hire had not been prevalent.
Since the start of trading the business found itself to be popular and at its peak was much larger than its current size, which is relative to the age and interests of the vendors rather than any other economic or commercial factors. It is believed by the vendors that the business could double its income and profits by simply doubling the number of vehicles for hire; something they believe strongly should be an opportunity taken upby a new owner.
The business operates from the two private homes of the vendors, where once it was managed from commercial premises, and alternates in operations between them according to mood or necessity. This arrangement has proven to be economically sensible and suitable for the vendors as they manage this business today very much in line with their own personal wishes and circumstances.
The business is based in the South Wales valleys, close to main trunk roads to Cardiff and West Wales via the Heads of the Valleys link road through the Neath Valley to the M4 near Swansea.
The taxi and private hire service is used mainly by local people by requirement to travel conveniently to and from shops, pubs and clubs throughout the area. A less frequent use is made of the service for airport transfers, and vehicles have been known to make transfers t and from Gatwick & Heathrow airports as well as the nearer airports of Cardifff and Bristol.
Such services if offered more proactiveley could yield much future growth and opportunity for a new owner, along with the more easily developed increases in trade by the introduction of more vehicle availability. |
